Grace Heathcote is a writer and science communicator with over a decade experience working with non-profit organisations in the ecology, conservation and natural resource management sectors.
Her writing has appeared in The Best Australian Science Writing 2026, The Guardian, Griffith Review, Australian Geographic, Island, and Forty South. Her academic publications can be found in peer-reviewed journals Conservation Biology, the Journal of Science Communication and Wildlife Research. Her first book, Ecology Matters: Conversations with Australian Ecologists, was published by CSIRO Publishing in 2025 and her second – telling the remarkable story of the hawksbill turtle – is set for release in 2027.
